Una mujer estadounidense llamada Mildred Gillars se dedica a emitir propaganda Nazi durante la II Guerra Mundial. Un grupo de chicas cercanas a ella la apodan "Axis Sally" como muestra de la ambigua relación que mantiene con ellas, a medio camino entre el amor y el odio. El papel de Sally como promotora de la polìtica del Tercer Reich la llevará a ser capturada y posteriormente juzgada por traición en la ciudad de Washington D.C.
